What would happen if one day, you were to wake up to a desert instead of the earth we know and love today? The unfortunate news is that this is already happening. The temperature of the earth has warmed exponentially ever since the industrial revolution started. Today, global warming poses a major threat to all form of life living inside of the earth. Many energy sources we use today for energy are not clean energy such as fossil fuel which means they release a bunch of CO2 into our atmosphere. Some of this CO2 may get absorbed back into the earth but the majority gets trapped in what’s known as the greenhouse effect. While many people are not concerned with global warming to change their lifestyle, fixing global warming can drastically improve our earth condition, like the climate, human health, and economy. The increase in temperature will cause flooding at a global level. Evidence from National Geographic tells us that the extent of the Arctic sea ice has declined in the last 30 years. This can lead to millions being displaced or without a home. In addition, If global temperatures rise then we would not be able to go outside the same way as we would today. SciShow explains that Record-breaking temperatures could be thanks to global warming. This would be problematic as plants and animals that cannot stand the extreme climate change and would die leaving us with a change of diet or starvation. Furthermore, Electrical companies would benefit from the increase in air conditioner use. For example, evidence from Oceana shows us when coal factories started to shut down, the number of death due to pollution has decreased exponentially. This effect is related to air conditioner use and the warm environment. Some may say, the cost of switching to a cleaner source of energy would be expensive. For example, the number of cars we would have to manufacture would be huge and resource intensive in order to replace all of the fuel ones. However, Even though we have not experienced global warming on a major scale yet does not mean we shouldn't take any safety precautions, we could slowly change the fuel burning cars instead of replacing it all at once. Under no circumstances should global warming be disregarded. Rising temperatures from global warming will cause global flooding, increase electrical cost or even worse, shape our planet into mars. In the end, global warming is a problem-not to joke about and should be farther researched in order to protect us from these types of conditions.
